In Los Angeles, California each year a special prom takes place for teenagers suffering from kidney disease. This prom happens in Sherman Oaks and is called the "Renal Teen Prom."

This year there were more than 400 students who took part in the special night. Celebrities often attend the event and actor Jack Black was present this year, as he has been many years in the past. Black dressed up as a king and entertained the teenagers throughout the night. He was also crowned prom king for the evening.

The people attending the prom all have varying complications with their kidneys. For some of the teenagers present, they were just diagnosed with complications and for others, they have been on dialysis for numerous years. The Renal Support Network sponsors this event, which is in it's 13th year.
