Should you use contrast agents if you have kidney problems?

by Administrator 5. February 2010 07:31

People with kidney problems may be advised against using gadolinium-based contrast agents when they under MRIs. Whille these contrast agents enhance the scans and improve diagnoses, they also pose a risk to people with kidney problems.

According to some reports, people with kidney problems have experienced kidney failure as a result of gadolinium-based contrast agents. However, MRIs without gadolinium-based contrast agents are generally not harmful to people with kidney problems.

If you or anyone you know has experienced kidney problems due to exposure to gadolinium, contact the gadolinium lawyers of Williams Kherkher at 800-761-3187.
