First Gadolinium, NSF Trial Set for January

by Administrator 2. December 2010 09:48
The first gadolinium-based contrast agent injury trial will begin in January.

According to court documents, the lawsuit was filed against GE Healthcare, claiming that a serious case of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis was triggered by the MRI contrasting agent Omniscan. The lawsuit was filed by Loralei and Donald Knase after Loralei developed NSF.

Gadolinium-based contrast agents used in MRI scans have been linked to the potentially fatal disorder NSF. In patients with kidney disease or renal failure, the chances of developing NSF after being exposed to gadolinium is much higher.

The trial date has been set for January 24, 2011 in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Ohio.

If you have been diagnosed with NFD or NSF after using a gadolinium-based contrast agent, you may be entitled to financial compensation. For more information on NSF lawsuits, please contact the gadolinium lawyers of Williams Kherkher by calling 800-761-3187.
