Bayer is beginning to settle suits involving its contrasting agent Magnevist. 

The company has began negotiations in around 40 cases of individuals that have developed side effects and problems involving the use of the MRI image contrasting agent.  The settlements are only for cases in which a biopsy was completed and Magnevist was the only agent used. 

The current settlements are being done in a non-public manner.  The dollar figure of these settlements is not being released.
